This is the tenth year of Shetland Wool Week being held in Shetland. I can't begin to list the itinerary of events so I will just give you the link here. Folks come from all over the world to this week long event. Shetland hosting is hard to beat. Although I love all things to do with wool, from the smell of the raw wool to the finished garment, I cannot knit a single stitch. I should have had some more interesting images to celebrate Wool Week but transport is a problem for me. I did get to the Shetland Museum via bus to catch these two wonderful ponies in there Fair Isle gansies which delighted the visitors. It was a Fair Isle Friday special occasion. There was a queue for two hours while everyone had their photo taken with the ponies. The black pony is called Vitamin and is 19 (maybe 20 now) years old. The white one is Fivla. Two hours was a long time to stand but ponies and owners did exceedingly well.
