'It looks like it's 'effect'craze time again. I'll probably look back on these and wonder 'what the heck was I thinking?' But in the meantime I'll just enjoy making art of sorts. This is my friend's cat, Zorro, having a snooze. Unaware that I have given him the Henshall treatment. 'Robbie'. The cool guy with the red hot chest. And a 'Robbie' rework.
The fifth and final series of 'Shetland' is now complete and has been shown on British TV. It will no doubt reach your particular country at some point. While the last series was being filmed I sneaked some photos of Douglas Henshall between his photo shoots. I've posted this one before but have reworked it and I like the result. I named the overlay 'The Henshall Effect' so no worries about forgetting it or not finding it on the computer.
My little friend 'Robbie' robin has succumbed to the same effect and I think it suits him. His little face seems to emit approval. Click on images to view in new window. I sat in a cafe waiting to catch the next bus. I like the corner seat as I can see folks coming in or going past. Placing the camera on the table I pretend I'm not taking photos and they are unaware of the soft click as the door opens. It's bright outside so the people are mostly in silhouette. I took these in black and white then, hoping to improve on them, I added a film look from two different post processing programmes. I rather like how they turned out.
Click to open in new window. Why am I not surprised that today is wet, windy and the complete opposite of yesterday? The clue is in the title. But the birds still come with their waterproof feathers holding droplets and are happy to see the food. Chaffinch, robin, starling, crow.
