Once upon a time this lovely old boat was as lively as her name. She now rests on a small slipway at our village waterfront. Although maybe not as lovely as she once was, her increasing character, brought about by her decaying condition, continues to attract photographers.

Our quiet little village of Scalloway has many cat owners so it is likely that, in whatever direction you walk, you will see a furry friend out for a stroll.....or sitting on the road.
I have begun to make my images available to purchase via download due to continually being requested to do so. This one is available here. We had a shower of sleet today which is to be expected at the beginning of November. Caught these little fellows in conversation but I guess they don't discuss the weather like we do, they're too occupied with being chirpy.
If anyone would like to purchase a download of any of these two images they are available on Creative Market here. On a clear day, in the right location, we can see the familiar peaks of the island of Foula just off the coastline of Shetland. A fictional film was made about it 1937. The film is the story of the depopulation of one of the isolated outer islands of Scotland as, one by one, the younger generation leaves for the greater opportunities offered by the mainland, making it harder to follow the old ways of life there. I couldn't find the film on the internet but here is a link to a written article about Foula on the BBC website. (Click Here) I hope this documentary is still available to view.
