Another couple of pages from my photo zine, Zinanigans #2. Girl On A Gravel Road
I’d observed her before And had detected A serene spirit. Contemplative, intelligent, With a rare unawareness Of her own unique beauty. Today she was walking A gravel path. Viewing the scene from the hill. She looked out of place On the rugged terrain But seemed to tread Easily and familiarly And I wondered Had her life been like that? A harsh journey Further hindered By intermittent potholes Of adversity. I hoped not….. But, sometimes, A tranquil nature And gentle spirit Can only emerge From a life Purged by sorrow.
