There are some amazing cloud formations to be seen in Shetland. How many folks, when they were young, lay on the grass, looked up to the sky and made pictures from the clouds? I was one of those. Many a landscape and animal was seen in the fluffy white formations. I have contrasted these images to highlight the patterns.

On the same morning that the images of misty Scalloway were taken I headed up the hill to The Scord. This is a viewpoint overlooking Scalloway where tour buses stop to allow visitors to photograph the scene below. I could have taken the long way up but decided it would be quicker using the 100+ steps up the hill. Not sure it was a good idea as I could hardly take photos for 'pechin' which is Shetland for panting. also I wanted to catch the 'Vos Venturer' coming in and found it balanced the scene beautifully.
Who gets up at 5.00am when they don't have to? Well, I did and I have never been happier to have so little sleep. One look out the window at the mist lying low over our village and it was out the door I went without a face wash and only half dressed. What a sight.....both me and the mist..... in a different sort of way.
