A visit from my nephew Ryan is always welcome. I want to learn portrait photography but I'm too self conscious. This was an opportunity to get a little practice as Ryan is always willing to sit. He's a good photographer as is his mother and my daughter. Why is it when an artistic talent comes naturally the artist isn't really bothered about using it. I have no natural creativity so have to work hard at it. I don't mind as the journey is interesting and satisfying.
I joined a wonderful Facebook Page called Texture Artists - 2 Lil Owls Group. Denise Love makes and sells Lightroom Presets and I've purchased many. Well worth it as I'm a real fan of artistically textured images. This photo is one of the first ones I posted to Denise's page. She was most instrumental in re-igniting my interest in still life photography.
Here's the link to her Facebook Texture page.

Didn't realise until I was home and looking at the images on the computer that I had captured a jet passing. Love the little unexpected extras.
Low evening sun creating light and shadows as cars cross the Trondra Bridge. I remember when I was in my late teens travelling to Burra by boat for the weekend to where my best friend lived. There is another bridge beyond this one which takes you to Burra. Loved the boat trips on a calm evening but really appreciate the bridges.
I hope you like what I bring here from the Shetland Islands. It will not only be landscapes but other images I hope you will find enjoyable. Thank you!
